Aircraft Descended 6,000 Feet Due to Turbulence Over Myanmar

Flight Data Shows Turbulent Event Occurred Near Thailand-Myanmar Border

Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight SQ321 encountered severe turbulence over the Indian Ocean on [Date], forcing the aircraft to divert to Bangkok, Thailand. The Boeing 777-300ER landed safely at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 3:45 pm local time.

The aviation tracking website FlightRadar24 reported that the turbulence occurred over Myanmar, near the Thailand-Myanmar border. The aircraft descended approximately 6,000 feet (1,800 meters) in about 10 minutes.

SIA issued a statement confirming the incident, stating that the aircraft experienced "severe turbulence" while en route to Singapore. The airline said that all passengers and crew members are safe and that it is investigating the incident.

Video footage taken from inside the aircraft shows the cabin shaking violently and passengers screaming. Some passengers reported minor injuries, while others experienced nausea and vomiting.

The cause of the turbulence is still being investigated. However, thunderstorms and other weather conditions can create significant turbulence, especially over oceans.
