Knicks Star Suffers Left Knee Contusion After Scary Fall

X-Rays Show No Structural Damage

Brunson Left Game Early But Returned to Lead Knicks to Victory

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson suffered a left knee contusion after a scary fall in the first minute of Game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Brunson was attempting a jump shot over Cavaliers forward Isaac Okoro when he came down awkwardly and appeared to hyperextend his left knee. He immediately grabbed his knee and fell to the court in pain.

Brunson was helped off the court and taken to the locker room, where he underwent X-rays. The X-rays came back negative, showing no structural damage to the knee.

Brunson returned to the game late in the first quarter and played the rest of the game without any apparent limitations. He finished with 29 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists, leading the Knicks to a 105-94 victory.

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau said after the game that Brunson is day-to-day with the knee contusion. He is expected to play in Game 3 of the series on Friday night.
