Beloved Character Actor Known for Winsome Presence and Acclaimed Performances

Shelley Duvall, the revered character actor renowned for her portrayal of Wendy Torrance in Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of Stephen King's "The Shining," has passed away at the age of 75.

Duvall's death was confirmed by her representative on Thursday, July 11th, who revealed that she had succumbed to complications arising from her diabetes. Born in Houston, Texas, on July 7th, 1949, Duvall rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s for her signature wide-eyed and innocent screen presence.

Oltre to "The Shining," Duvall collaborated with acclaimed director Robert Altman on numerous films, including "3 Women" (1977), "Nashville" (1975), and "McCabe & Mrs. Miller" (1971). She also appeared in notable works such as "Popeye" (1980) and "Tender Mercies" (1983).
