Is Your Site Crawlable By Google

Is Your Site Crawlable By Google?

You've spent a lot of time and effort on your website. But is it crawlable by Google?

If not, you're missing out on a lot of potential traffic.

Googlebot is the robot that crawls the web and indexes pages for Google Search. If Googlebot can't crawl your site, your pages won't appear in Google's search results. Not only that Google Search Console won't register your site as a verified domain.

There are a number of things that can prevent Googlebot from crawling your site, including:

  • Blocking Googlebot in your robots.txt file
  • Using noindex or nofollow tags
  • Having a site that's not mobile-friendly
  • Having a site that's slow to load
  • Having a site that's not secure

If you're not sure whether or not your site is crawlable by Google, you can use the robots testing tool to check. Simply enter your website's URL and click "Test". The tool will tell you if Googlebot can access your site and if there are any problems that need to be fixed.

If you find that your site is not crawlable by Google, there are a number of things you can do to fix the problem, including:

  • Unblocking Googlebot in your robots.txt file
  • Removing noindex or nofollow tags
  • Making your site mobile-friendly
  • Improving your site's speed
  • Making your site secure

Once you've made these changes, resubmit your site to Google Search Console. Ensure you have access to the email you used to create your Google account. You can also the above fetch as Google tool in Google Search Console. Click on the fetch option and submit your URL. This will ask Google to recrawl your site and index the new content.

By following these steps, you can help ensure that your site is crawlable by Google and that your pages are appearing in Google's search results.
